The Inter-University Consortium on Caribbean Gang Research brings together a group of scholars with significant experience in carrying out research on gangs and gang violence in the Caribbean. The consortium includes researchers from American University, Arizona State University, Sam Houston State University, and the University of the West Indies.
Some of our research on gangs, violence, and criminal justice reform was facilitated by the Forensic Science Centre. This research resulted in published journal articles on forensic toxicology and ballistic imaging.
Nearly all of our work on gangs, violence, and criminal justice reform in Trinidad and Tobago was funded by the Ministry of National Security.
Most of our strategic crime control work in Trinidad and Tobago was done in concert with the Police Service, especially the Crime and Problem Analysis Branch, the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, and the Repeat Offender Task Force.
